playdate Policies

PARENT/CAREGIVER SUPERVISION

While the play space has Play Instigators in there to supervise and interact with kids, parents/caregivers are responsible for the supervision and safety of their children on the premises at all times. Parents/caregivers must remain on the premises at all times.

CHILD SAFETY

Please be mindful that the café serves hot beverage and food. Running is not permitted outside of the play area.

OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINK

Outside food and drink are not permitted at playdate (exceptions are pre-packaged puree baby food in a pouch or jar, infant formula, breast milk, and water in your own sippy cup). We currently offer a variety of snacks and drinks. Once we complete our kitchen build in phase 2 a menu of healthy, natural and organic beverages, baked-goods, snacks, lunch items, kid-friendly goodies, gluten-free options and more will be available.  We ask that you don’t eat any outside food inside playdate and appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Outside food or drink are permitted for party rentals.

SHOE POLICY

Everyone is required to remove shoes before entering play space. Gripper socks are required in the play space (both children and parents/caregivers). $2 socks are available for purchase for those who forget. Cubbies are available. Please monitor your stored items carefully, as we are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings.

OLDER KIDS/SIBLINGS

Children older than age 8 are allowed to play only if visiting with other children age 7 and younger (in the same family). Admission rates apply for any children who play with and utilize the toys, regardless of age. Please contact us with questions about special permissions.

NO FOOD AND DRINK WHILE PLAYING

Food and drinks should be enjoyed while seated only. Children may not carry food or drinks while playing with toys or equipment. Should your child escape from the table with a snack or juice box (it happens!) please take extra care to make sure food and drink items are not left on any play equipment or in toy areas. Other children likely will pick them up and it is important to be careful about potential allergies or dietary restrictions.

ILLNESS POLICY

No sick children. Because the health and wellbeing of your child is important to us, we reserve the right to refuse admission to obviously ill children.

FOOD SAFETY AND ALLERGENS

Parents are responsible for selecting appropriate food and drink menu items for their child; please avoid choking hazards or any potential allergens. You are solely responsible for monitoring your child and the food around him or her.

DIAPER CHANGES

Diapers must only be changed in designated changing areas (changing room).

NO TOYS, BOOKS OR COSTUMES IN THE RESTROOMS

Please do not bring (or allow your child to bring) any toys, costumes or books belonging to playdate into either bathroom.

SAFE PLAY POLICY

No pushing, shoving, rough play, or dangerous behavior. Play Instigators will give 1 warning to children and may ask parents to have children sit with them at the Play Instigators discression.

Children may only use the play area equipment for their intended use only, in a fair and respectful manner. All children must wait their turn to use any equipment or toys. Once our play structure is in there is absolutely no climbing or standing on the slide and must use feet first when going down. Throwing toys and other objects is strictly prohibited.

All parents, guardians and children must wash and/or sanitize hands before entering the play area. Encourage your children to wash hands frequently; especially after bathroom use.

Rough play and aggressive behaviour are not permitted and families may be asked to leave the premises if they demonstrate such behaviour. Children that hurt or injure others or cause damage to the premises will be asked to leave with their parents/guardians.

All of our equipment and toys are sanitized and cleaned every day. Any toys that require cleaning or where children have put in their mouths should be put in the toy baskets that are marked for cleaning. No outside toys are permitted in the facility for safety reasons. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged toys or personal belongings that you bring onto our premises. We are not responsible for any injuries caused to you or any other participants caused directly or indirectly as a result of any unauthorized toys you bring onto the premises.

CRAWLER SPACE

The Crawler Space is for adults and children under 18 months ONLY. Older siblings of infants may play calmly in this area but rambunctious children will be asked to play elsewhere.

STROLLERS

We are not able to accommodate strollers due to space limitations, but you may store your stroller in our entry area.  Infant car seat carriers are fine to bring in!

CAPACITY POLICY

We reserve the right to refuse admission if the play space is at capacity. On days with very hot or rainy weather we ask you to check our Facebook page for updates on capacity status. Or please call ahead.
