Things You Can Do with Cricut Access: Best Wishes Tags

So being completely new to the whole world of craft cutting I wasn't really sure where to start. I thought about it a bit and I figured there are probably a lot of people like me. Ones who get their shiny new Cricut (or other cutting machine) and just stare at it.
I wanted to start a series on some of the easy and fun things you can do from Cricut Access and the ready to go projects to give it at try.
My first up were these cute little Best Wishes tags. I wanted to try them because I wanted to do something other than vinyl and wanted to try the whole pen and writing feature (seriously for someone who can't write straight unless there is a line under my words, this mesmerizes me).
So follow along with me to make your own Best Wishes tags as I show you how I created them.
Step 1: Open your Design Space or if you are in it like below click projects. Here you will see tons of cute ready to go designs and projects. In the top right - click search and type Best Wishes.
Step 2: After you click on the Best Wishes project this screen pops up. Seriously that is a super cute tag. You can see all you are going to need and the instructions on how to do this project. You can choose Make It or Customize It (if you have an active subscription to Cricut Access this will show a zero cost. If you don't check it out here).
I chose customize it because I wanted to add two to the page.
Adding the second one was super easy. I just clicked the first one that it placed there and then in the top right clicked duplicate.
What was nice about this project is it was already set up ready to go so all I had to do was click Make It.
This is the mat screen, but remember I did two of them so mine will write and cut two.
Step 3. Just click continue, make sure your mat is loaded, you have you pen color (the project called for a pen color I didn't have so I used this pretty teal one) loaded (note: the first time I put a pen in it took a little force. Wasn't what I was expecting and I was kinda babying the machine. But now that I know they click in just fine.) and once it finds your machine click the Cricut button.
Step 4: After they are all complete and you unload your mat, place it upside down and hold the cardstock and roll and peel the mat back. Then just repeat to the tags and you are left with the cut outs on the mat.
Side note: There was so many little pieces I probably should have used transfer tape or something else to pull them off the mat. It took me a few mins to complete that.
Another note: make sure you feel your cardstock. Mine was a bit thinner one and I didn't select light cardstock but just regular cardstock so I did cut my mat a little bit. Hey I'm learning here!
So please feel free to share your Best Wishes tag if you've done them or any Cricut Access project that you found to be a good one to get your feet wet with.
