Cricut, Crafting

So as you may know, Friday I grabbed myself my first Cricut. I went with the Explorer Air 2 (for now - at some point I am going to get myself a Maker!)

But now what? Now I have this cute little rose Cricut, I made the fun little card it gives you to start, my daughter and I cut out a cat SVG file we found in Access, but really now what? I didn't get it to let it gather dust. So I had to find something to create. Somethings really. But where to start

Well first things first, we need stuff to craft on! Can any one say HELLLOOOOO Target dollar spot? Seriously - if you are ever looking for fun and inexpensive things you can use to create with this spot was a goldmine.

So my daughter and I got in the car, took the 40 min drive to Target (which BTW Target you REALLY need one closer to me, I really don't live in the middle of nowhere!) and started browsing the Dollar Spot - or Bullseye Playground, I am not really sure what it is called now. We found so many cute things, yoga blocks (you could totally decorate those up), wristlets that you could put some cute sayings on or a fun design, there were these cute heart mirrors, candles and so many possibilities!

Here's what we created.

Cute shiny candles (side note they smell so nice). I went and downloaded some SVG files and adorned these already pretty candles with the saying my hubby and I are always saying to each other. Check out this cute one you could use here.

I grabbed this cute little tray, so sparkly and pink (or purple) and found a fun sugar skull to put on it to give to my oldest daughter. There are some cute ones over here you could use.

How cute is this little mailbox for Valentine's day. I made tis one up on my own (just inside Design Space) but you could always use a cute little candy heart like this one.

This super pretty pink chalkboard that we put a fun saying. Head over here and grab your FREE (at the time of this posting) SVG to cut and create yourself! (Also - the roses on the board were already there. Since they were so thin, I wanted something that would match them. So just know - super thin fonts like this are a little um 'fun' to get weeded etc.

One of my missions is to get my craft room to be a little less chaotic (blog posts and challenges coming) so I though I could use these cute little jars in there for buttons or findings etc. Though I bet it would be cute with this FREE unicorn too!

This cute little cream colored jar. Just grab an already made SVG file or write out a cute saying and you've got a give worthy item. My daughter is going to LOVE this. Yours could look cute with this one.

I couldn't seem to stop there. I also made some wall art using self adhesive vinyl. My daughter's door got a little decoration.

So these were my first projects. What did you first make with your Cricut? Stay tuned for more ideas!
